Kathy Korman Frey

Proud of the women in your life? So is the nationally award-winning Hot Mommas Project, the world’s largest women’s case study library.Founded by Kathy Korman Frey, the project teaches women how to write their own case study (aka “teachable story”) to serve as digital mentors and role models. The project’s classes, content, and coaching increase self-efficacy, aka “the success gene,” up to 200 percent. The venture has been covered frequently in the media including the Washington Post, NPR, BBC, Forbes, and Working Mother.

Kathy is the instructor of Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership, the recipient of aNational Excellence in Entrepreneurship Education, at the George Washington School of Business in Washington, DC. Previously, she was ManagingDirector of Vision Forward, a strategic planning consulting company. Kathy also served as COO of the National Council on the Aging Development Corporation where she teamed to build and capitalize ventures in the boomer and senior market. Her prior career was in the merger and acquisition and competitive analysis fields as an analyst and business development executive at MMI (acquired by Citigate). There, she advised Fortune100 companies on strategic decision-making.

Kathy serves has served on several boards including theAlzheimer’sAssociation, National Capital Area and United Women in Business. She is the recipient of a Washington’s Business Journal Woman Who Means Business award, an Influential Woman of Virginia award, is the founding DC National Association of Women Business Owner’s Woman of Distinction, and the recipient of a Most Influential Faculty Award at GW.She also serves asa Special Advisor to the Small Business Administration.

Kathy earned her BA in English from The University of Virginia and her MBA from Harvard Business School.She lives in the Washington, DC area with her husband and two kids, and two dogs, in a state of semi-controlled chaos.
