Katia Beauchamp

Katia Beauchamp is the Co-Founder of Birchbox, a monthly beauty subscription service. Subscribers receive a box containing four to five samples of makeup and other beauty-related products, including skincare items, perfumes, organic-based products, and various cosmetics.

A native of Texas, Beauchamp holds a master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in International Studies & Economics from Vassar College. Her early career was in structured finance and commercial real estate, which lasted three years. The skills she honed in these fields have been pivotal in forming partnerships with brands and in the growth and scaling of Birchbox.

Beauchamp embarked on her entrepreneurial journey after graduating from Harvard Business School in 2010, where she met Hayley Barna, her future co-founder at Birchbox. Their shared vision for Birchbox became a reality with the company’s launch in September 2010. Since then, Birchbox has not only included men’s products through Birchbox Man in April 2012 but also expanded globally. The acquisition of Paris-based JolieBox in September 2012 helped Birchbox establish business units in France, the UK, and Spain, positioning the company as an international leader in discovery commerce. Birchbox now serves over 2.5 million monthly active users.

In a significant development in October 2018, Walgreens purchased a minority stake in Birchbox, introducing Birchbox curated full-sized skincare, makeup, and hair products to Walgreens stores. This partnership commenced in 11 stores across key U.S. cities including Chicago, L.A., New York City, and Minneapolis, with plans for further expansion.
