Keegan-Michael Key

Keegan-Michael Key is an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer, widely known for his work in sketch comedy and television. Key rose to fame as one half of the comedy duo “Key & Peele” alongside Jordan Peele. The Emmy Award-winning show, which aired on Comedy Central from 2012 to 2015, became a cultural phenomenon known for its sharp social satire and iconic characters.

Key has appeared in various television shows, films, and stage productions. He has starred in movies like “Keanu” (2016), “The Predator” (2018), “Dolemite Is My Name” (2019), and “Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey” (2020). He has also provided voice work for animated features like “The Lion King” (2019), “Toy Story 4” (2019), and “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” (2023).

Key is known for his versatility and has appeared in dramatic roles, such as his performances in “Fargo” (FX) and “The Prom” (2020). He is a passionate advocate for diversity in Hollywood and often uses his platform to speak on issues of race, inclusion, and representation in entertainment.

Key attended the University of Detroit Mercy, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater, and later received a Master of Fine Arts from Pennsylvania State University’s School of Theatre. Before his breakout on “Key & Peele” he was a cast member on “MADtv” where he first showcased his talent for sketch comedy and impersonations.
