Keith Sweat

Keith Sweat is an R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer recognized for his role in shaping the new jack swing musical movement. Sweat's career took off with the release of his debut solo album, "Make It Last Forever," on November 24, 1987. The album sold three million copies, with hits like "I Want Her" earning a nomination for the 1989 Soul Train Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Song of the Year award. This seminal work, along with subsequent albums, positioned him as a distinctive voice in the field of contemporary R&B.

Sweat's successful trajectory continued with his second album, "I'll Give All My Love to You," reaching No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart, and his third album, "Keep It Comin'," debuting in the Top 20 of the album chart. His discography includes 13 solo albums, including the notable "Twisted" and the 2010 release "Ridin' Solo" under the Kedar Records label. In addition to his solo career, Sweat was a member of the R&B supergroup LSG, along with Gerald Levert and Johnny Gill. This collaboration produced the platinum-selling Levert-Sweat-Gill album, featuring popular tracks like "My Body."

As a record producer, Sweat discovered and nurtured the careers of groups like Silk and Kut Klose. He has also contributed to the world of film and television, with appearances in "New Jack City" in 1991 and "For the Love of Money" in 2021, as well as on "Showtime at the Apollo" in 1988 and "Hell's Kitchen" in 2017. Since 2007, Sweat has connected with fans beyond music through his nationally syndicated radio program, The Keith Sweat Hotel.

Over the span of his three-decade-long career, Sweat has not only released numerous albums but has also been recognized for his work, winning the 1997 American Music Award for Favorite Male R&B/Soul Artist and receiving the Soul Train Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
