Kelly Pfleider Biography
Kelly Pfleider has led bystander intervention workshops for the Department of Defense, Schools, Universities and Corporate America since 2005. In 2015, Pfleider incorporated her company Pure Praxis. Pure Praxis customizes and delivers interactive workshops to initiate awareness and prevention. Pure Praxis performance sole purpose is spent shifting personal and cultural narratives, allowing every person to feel valued and protected.
Pure Praxis will educate individuals of all backgrounds on effective bystander intervention strategies using improvisational tactics to re-create difficult real-world situations with trained Actors. This allows participants to rehearse pro-active responses in a safe environment and engage with hands-on training that will ultimately stop self-directed harm and prohibit abusive or harmful acts. In 2015, Pfleider was awarded a 5 year multi-million-dollar contract with the Department of Navy to implement Sexual Assault Prevention, Suicidal Ideation Awareness and Workplace Harassment trainings both domestically and internationally. In that time, Pfleider trained over 400,000 service members.
