Kelvin Baggett

Kelvin A. Baggett, M.D. is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with experience as a physician, clinical leader, operator, advisor and investor. He brings a richly informed point of view on health and healthcare and how to make improvements at scale. He now serves as Managing Director, Head of Patient Impact and Chair of EMPIRIC Institute at Patient Square Capital. In this leadership role, Dr. Baggett utilizes his extensive health care experience to measure and drive improvements in quality, care delivery, health outcomes, and patient impact across Patient Square’s investments.

Before joining Patient Square, Dr. Baggett served as Executive Vice President & Chief Impact Officer at McKesson, a Fortune 10 company. As a member of McKesson’s Executive Operating Team, he was responsible for global strategic initiatives and played a pivotal role in shaping McKesson’s purpose of “Advancing Health Outcomes for All.”

Before McKesson, Dr. Baggett served as the Chief Operating Officer for Health Care Navigator, the Senior Vice President & Chief Clinical Officer at Tenet Healthcare Corporation, and prior to that, as the Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Services Group for HCA Healthcare. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as a civic volunteer as the City of Dallas’ COVID-19 Health and Healthcare Access Czar.

Dr. Baggett completed his internal medicine training at Yale University, advanced training as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at Johns Hopkins University and as a fellow at Duke University. He earned his BS in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Doctor of Medicine degree from East Carolina University, a Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Business Administration from Duke.
