Ken Laverdure

Ken Laverdure brings his expertise in material science to Estee Lauder Companies, where he plays a pivotal role in enhancing the sustainability of packaging solutions. With a steadfast commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship, Laverdure continues to drive positive change within the beauty industry.

Prior to Estee Lauder, Laverdure was the Senior Process Engineer at Beyond Meat, leveraging his industrial acumen in extrusion techniques to enhance food production processes. Additionally, he spearheaded initiatives to elevate health and safety protocols at Beyond Meat's R&D pilot lab. Earlier, he spent 11 impactful years pioneering sustainability initiatives and advancing material science at PepsiCo. Notably, his groundbreaking work on the PLA Compostable SunChips bag garnered prestigious accolades including a PepsiCo Chairman’s Award, a DuPont Innovation Award, and recognition as an "R&D 100 Award" recipient.

Earlier in his career, Laverdure held positions at Dow Chemical, where he delved into elucidating structure-property relationships and designing polymers, and Total Petrochemicals, where he honed his skills in film, sheet, and foam extrusion. He earned his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware before pursuing his passion for research with a PhD from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
