Kev Orkian

Kev Orkian is, without question, one of the UK's most talented up-and-coming comedians. Winner of Event UK's The Next Big Thing (2009), he has performed a live duet with global opera star Katherine Jenkins, sold out his one-man show in theatres around the world, HRH Prince Charles described him as an "Absolute Genius" and his comedy rendition of Elton John's I'm Still Standing has been described as Comedy Gold.

A highly skilled pianist, singer and actor, Kev Orkian blends his unique off-beat humour with sensational performances on the piano and has been dubbed one of the world's finest comedy pianists. His act has been honed to perfection over many years, from his early days as a classically trained concert pianist appearing at prestigious venues such as the Sydney Opera House to performing stand-up comedy as the support act to some of the biggest names in British comedy.

In May 2009 he joined the UK comedy circuit appearing at clubs such as The Comedy Store, Jongleurs and Highlights. Within two months at Jongleurs he was headlining and closing the show to regular standing ovations. And in August 2010 he made his debut appearance at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival with 'The Illegal Tour' playing his immigrant character.

Kev Orkian now spends a large proportion of the year performing at corporate and private events plus touring the world with his one-man show. Cities recently visited include Berlin, Beirut, Lisbon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles, Dubai, Oman, Montreal and Toronto.

About The Character... When performing in character as 'The Foreigner', Kev Orkian is an Armenian who speaks little English and is desperately trying to stay in the UK to fulfill his one love... playing the piano. Think Jools Holland meets Borat, the character is based loosely on his Armenian mother, who really does speak English with a broken accent and frequently misinterpreters what is being said. Kev Orkian will have you on the floor with his hilarious anecdotes and routines, and you'll be awe-struck at his sheer skill and dexterity on the piano.
