Kevin Jorgeson

Kevin Jorgeson is a rock climber celebrated for his ability to free climb sheer cliffs and high-ball large boulders. He is particularly recognized for completing the first-ever free climb of The Dawn Wall in Yosemite National Park. This accomplishment was made alongside his climbing partner, Tommy Caldwell, after a seven-year quest to find a way to free climb the steepest, blankest face of Yosemite’s monolithic El Capitan.

Jorgeson's feat on the Dawn Wall was a global inspiration, garnering over 34 billion media impressions and coverage by numerous major news outlets. The 19-day climb, during which Jorgeson and Caldwell lived on the side of the 3,000-foot cliff of El Capitan, deeply moved many, including President Barack Obama, who stated, “You remind us that anything is possible.” Jorgeson's journey, along with Caldwell's, is captured in the documentary film "The Dawn Wall" directed by Josh Lowell and Peter Mortimer.

Jorgeson's passion for the outdoors was nurtured from a young age. He spent time hiking, whitewater rafting, fishing, hunting, and camping with his father. At age 10, he discovered the sport of rock climbing, and by age 17, he became an International Champion. Today, he is one of the most prominent climbers in the world, known not only for his climbing feats but also for his work off the cliffs.

Apart from climbing, Jorgeson is also active in giving back to his community. He co-founded and serves as the managing director at Session, a climbing facility in Sonoma County, California. He also works as the head of product at Bouldering Project, a climbing gym in Seattle. Additionally, he co-founded 1Climb, an organization focused on introducing children to climbing. Jorgeson has spoken for companies including The Gap, Samsung, and Alcon Laboratories. His sponsorships include Adidas and Five Ten.
