Kevin Shinick

Kevin Shinick began his career as the host and squadron leader of the Emmy winning PBS series, "Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego?" before becoming an Emmy Award-winning writer (Robot Chicken), a bestselling author (Star Wars: Force Collector), a celebrated comic book creator (Spider-Man, Batman, The Flash), a Broadway veteran and a multiple Annie Award-winning producer.

Along the way, Shinick has earned a veritable pop culture pedigree by working alongside George Lucas (Star Wars: Detours), directing Stan Lee (Marvel's Spider-Man), collaborating with the rock band KISS (Scooby-Doo and KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery), helping Mike Tyson solve some mysteries (The Mike Tyson Mysteries), writing for Snoop Dogg (Uncle Snoop’s Playhouse) and turning MAD Magazine into the Emmy nominated animated series known simply as MAD. As an actor, Shinick has appeared in over half a dozen Broadway plays as well numerous film and TV shows including Grimm, Masters of Sex, Major Crimes, Rizzoli and Isles, Trust Me, Without A Trace and Larry David’s feature film Sour Grapes.

Shinick will soon return to his hosting roots portraying legendary American Bandstand host Dick Clark in next year's Michael Jackson biopic: Michael. It’s been this unique, first-hand experience that helped Shinick discover not just that people use pop culture as a distraction from the real world (because let’s face it, we all know watching fictional characters overcome impossible odds is easier than watching ourselves overcome our own fears and aspirations) But because he discovered the strategies are the same!
