Keyu Jin

Dr. Keyu Jin is an Associate Professor in the Economics department at the London School of Economics (LSE), having transitioned from her previous position as Lecturer and Tenured Professor. She is also recognized as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, a prestigious acknowledgment she received in 2014.

Dr. Jin's expertise lies in international macroeconomics, international finance, and the Chinese economy. Her research primarily focuses on global imbalances, global asset prices, and international trade and growth. Additionally, she is deeply involved in analyzing various economic issues in China - particularly the savings patterns across different generations of consumers. Her insights have led to a number of written works on topics such as global trade imbalances, global asset prices, and China's economic growth model.

Beyond academia, Dr. Jin has successfully applied her research to real-world scenarios. She has worked with numerous global financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley. Her consulting work extends to organizations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Moreover, she has held visiting professorships at esteemed institutions like Yale University and UC Berkeley.

Dr. Jin's extensive knowledge and experience have made her a sought-after voice in economic commentary. She is a Project Syndicate and Caixin Magazine columnist and has contributed opinion pieces to international media outlets such as the Financial Times and the South China Morning Post. She has also taken on leadership roles in the corporate world, serving as a non-executive director to Richemont Group, one of the world's largest luxury goods companies. Dr. Jin received her B.A., M.A., and PhD from Harvard University and has won the Chiles Award, the NBER Aging and Health Fellowship, and the Allyn Young Thesis Prize in Economics. In addition to her native Chinese, Dr. Keyu is fluent in French.
