Kim Daisy

Kim "Daisy" has been immersed in the culinary world from a young age, learning the ropes from her grandmothers and great aunt Daisy, who inspired the name of her company. She graduated from Wofford College, where she began to seriously pursue her career in the food industry, which now spans over 30 years.

After college, she and her friend Sophie Copses started a catering business. In 1990, Kim opened her first full-service restaurant, "As You Like It," in Spartanburg, SC. In 1998, she launched "Cooking Up a Storm," a unique hands-on cooking class that operated for six years, teaching nearly 300 students to embrace cooking and explore diverse flavors.

In June 2009, Kim founded Daisy Cakes to share her family’s cherished cake recipes on a broader scale. She and her team take great care in crafting each cake, ensuring every layer is hand-sifted, baked, and frosted with precision. Her venture gained significant momentum after appearing on the ABC show "Shark Tank" in April 2011. Daisy Cakes have been featured on "The Nate Berkus Show," "Anderson Cooper," "ABC World News," "Today Show," "The Queen Latifah Show," "The Better Show," "The Taste," and "QVC." Additionally, the cakes have been showcased as prizes on "The Price Is Right" and "Wheel of Fortune."

Kim has also authored a cookbook titled "Daisy Cakes, Share a Slice of Love," encapsulating her baking philosophy and family recipes. As a speaker, she focuses on themes of persistence, audacity, and relentlessness, often sharing insights from her "Shark Tank" experience in her keynote speech, "My Recipe for Success." Kim also motivates audiences with her "Try this C.A.K.E." speech, promoting Courage/Confidence, Audacity, Knowledge, and Enthusiasm/Endurance. She speaks on various subjects, including Branding, Entrepreneurship, Inspiration, and Women in Business, drawing from her extensive experience in the culinary and business arenas.
