Born in New York City, she grew up in a family immersed in the entertainment industry, with her mother, Chip Fields, being an actress and director. Fields gained early fame as Tootie Ramsey on "The Facts of Life," a role that made her a household name. She later cemented her status as a television star by playing Regine Hunter on the hit '90s sitcom "Living Single."
Beyond acting, Fields has built a career as a director, working on popular shows like "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" and "Meet the Browns."
