Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson, a seasoned professional basketball player, has had an illustrious career in the NBA. Currently playing for the Dallas Mavericks, Thompson's journey to prominence began at Washington State University, where he was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman Team and set the university's single-season scoring record. His jersey was retired by the university in honor of his contributions. Thompson was selected 11th overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2011 NBA Draft and was voted to the NBA All-Rookie First Team soon after. He made his mark by setting an NBA record for scoring 37 points in a single quarter in 2015, and he, along with Stephen Curry, set another NBA record for the most combined three-pointers in a season.

Thompson's achievements continued to grow as he won the NBA Three-Point Contest in 2016 and scored 60 points in a single game the same year, setting a record for the most points in under 30 minutes of play. He was part of the team that led the Golden State Warriors to win multiple NBA championships. His remarkable performance in the 2018 NBA Finals led him to become the sixth player ever to make 300 three-pointers in the postseason. Despite suffering a significant injury in 2019, Thompson made a notable comeback in 2022, passing Ray Allen for third on the NBA playoffs all-time three-pointers list and helping the Warriors secure another NBA championship.

Thompson's basketball prowess extends beyond the NBA. He has represented the United States national team, earning gold medals at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2016 Olympics. Thompson's off-court activities include a partnership with Chinese shoe company Anta, with which he signed a 10-year deal in 2016, and an appearance in the film "Space Jam: A New Legacy."
