Krystal Ball

Krystal Ball is a political pundit and journalist who hosts "Rising with the Hill's Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti," hosted by The Hill. She has appeared on shows on Fox News, CNN, and CNBC. She was previously a contributor under contract for MSNBC and a regular contributor to the HuffPost.

Ball was the Democratic Party nominee for Congress in Virginia's 1st congressional district in the 2010 election, losing to Republican incumbent Rob Wittman. In May 2017, she created the People's House Project, a political action committee working on behalf of Democratic causes.

Previously she co-hosted "The Cycle," a politics and current affairs show on MSNBC. In addition to her work on "The Cycle," Ball is a frequent political commenter and has appeared on programs such as "The Today Show," "The Ed Show," "Good Morning America," and "The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell." Her writing has appeared in publications such as US News and World Report, the Atlantic, the Huffington Post, and Politico; she has been a featured speaker at Columbia, Princeton, and George Washington University; and a guest lecturer at the New School in New York City.

Following her congressional campaign, Ball was named by Forbes Magazine as #21 on the magazine’s “Most Powerful Women in the Mid Term Elections” list. The Week magazine rated her as one of the Top Eight Political Stars of 2010, along with Marco Rubio, Scott Brown, and Chris Christie. Profiled all over the United States for her innovative use of social media in politics, Ball's compelling political vision for her party has been featured as far away as The China Post.

Ball is a native Virginian and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia. In addition to her work in politics and media, Ball is also a Certified Public Accountant and software designer.
