Krysten Ritter

Krysten Ritter is an American actress, musician, author, and model. She first came to prominence when she appeared as Jane Margolis in the AMC drama series Breaking Bad from 2009 to 2010. She then had the title (and lead) role in two series: Chloe in the ABC sitcom Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 (2012–2013), and superhero Jessica Jones in the Netflix series Jessica Jones (2015–2019). She also appeared as Jessica Jones in the 2017 miniseries The Defenders, and reprised her role as Jane Margolis in the 2019 Breaking Bad spinoff TV film "El Camino."

Ritter has also appeared in the television series Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, 'Til Death, and Gravity. She appeared in the films "What Happens in Vegas" (2008), "Confessions of a Shopaholic" (2009), "She's Out of My League" (2010), "Veronica Mars" (2014), "Big Eyes" (2014), and "The Hero" (2017).

Ritter was discovered by an agent at the Wyoming Valley Mall at a modeling event when she was 15. During high school, she traveled to New York on days off modeling in both New York City and Philadelphia. She signed with Elite Model Management and then with Wilhelmina Models.

At 18, she moved to New York City, establishing an international modeling career. When Wilhelmina placed her for an audition for a Dr. Pepper television commercial, her acting career began. She trained with acclaimed acting coach Marjorie Ballentine. She had several small film roles beginning in 2001. She played an art student in 2003's "Mona Lisa Smile."

She has also worked in live theatre. Ritter appeared in "All This Intimacy," a two act Off Broadway play by Rajiv Joseph, at the Second Stage Theatre in 2006. She also starred in the premiere of Zach Braff's play "All New People" at Second Stage Theatre in 2011. Anna Camp, David Wilson Barnes and Justin Bartha co-starred in the production under the direction of Peter DuBois.
