Lauren Kassan is the co-founder and COO of The Wing, a coworking space-meets-social club for women in New York that offers living room-style work space, a locker room, a library, and on-demand blowouts. It’s meant to be both flexible space for professional women about town as well as a community hub for its 600 members. Kassan’s background is in fitness startups. She was the first employee at the New York boutique fitness studio SLT, which now has 12 locations, and rose to become the director of business development. She then worked at ClassPass, where she helped grow the startup’s studio network. Now, Kassan runs day to day operations for The Wing, which has been in-demand since it opened in October 2016, with 3,000 women now on the waiting list, and countless more in other major cities clamoring for their own version.
