Lauren Sisler is an Emmy Award-winning sports broadcaster and sideline reporter for ESPN and the SEC Network. Known for her engaging personality and popular "sideline shimmy" dances, Sisler has covered college football and gymnastics since joining ESPN in 2016. Her journey, however, is defined by more than just sports coverage.
Sisler's personal story is one of resilience. As a freshman at Rutgers University, where she competed in gymnastics, she faced unimaginable loss when both of her parents died from opioid overdoses within hours of each other. For years, she struggled with grief and shame but ultimately found strength in sharing her story, which has become central to her career as a motivational speaker and author.
Her new book, "Shatterproof: How I Overcame the Shame of Losing My Parents to Opioid Addiction (and Found My Sideline Shimmy)," explores her healing journey and offers insights on overcoming adversity. Sisler also delivers keynotes that focus on authentic leadership, resilience, and the power of personal storytelling, inspiring diverse audiences from athletes to corporate leaders.
Currently living in Birmingham, Alabama, she continues to promote addiction awareness and personal empowerment while staying deeply connected to her sports roots.
