Leena El-Ali

Leena El-Ali is the author of the international bestseller "No Truth Without Beauty: God, the Qur'an, and Women's Rights," published in 2022 to scholarly and lay acclaim around the globe. She has spoken at dozens of conferences, universities, think-tanks, corporate DEI events and on various podcasts about her book and other topics including inter-spirituality, immigration, Islam and gender in the media, among many others.

In a career spanning over 30 years, El-Ali has been an award-winning fund manager, an investment banker and a social entrepreneur. She is a strategic thinker and has worked with a number of international, non-profit organizations across South and South-East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa in several areas including conflict mitigation, governance and peacebuilding; and Islam and democracy, human rights and women’s rights. From 2005 to 2012 she was the editor-in-chief and publisher of the Common Ground News Service, commissioning constructive op-eds for Muslim-Western understanding and distributing them worldwide in six languages. Since 2013, she has provided advisory and consulting services in international affairs, development and investment to a variety of clients.

El-Ali is committed to greater inter-spiritual understanding and to shining a light on the spirituality that lies at the heart of all religions in our fractured world. Educated primarily in Beirut as well as in England, El-Ali speaks Arabic, English, French and Spanish and is a British-American citizen.
