Leslie Sykes Biography
Leslie Sykes is the weekend co-anchor of the "Eyewitness News" team at 5, 6 & 11p.m. reporter for "Eyewitness News" with Micah Ohlman.
Leslie was born in San Diego, California and grew up in Compton. Leslie attended St. Joseph High School and then went to Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia where she majored in English.
Upon graduation, she took a job as a general assignment reporter at the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. Leslie completed an internship at KCOP-TV and she was a desk assistant at Fox News (KTTV) before landing her first on-air job in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at WDAM-TV. There she reported, anchored three shows a day and produced a newscast. She went on to work at WVUE-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana, before returning to Los Angeles in December of 1994 to begin work at KABC-TV "Eyewitness News" as a general assignment reporter.
Leslie was promoted in June of 1999 to co-anchor of "Eyewitness News" on the weekends with Micah Ohlman.
When Leslie isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their young son.
