Lil Chen is the curator, moderator, and co-founder of The New Meta: Women in eSports panel held recently at the NYUGameCenter. More commonly known as "Milktea", she has been a longtime member of the competitive Smash Brothers Melee community for the last eight years.
As an huge proponent of empathy, Lil aims to increase awareness and promote female participation in competitive gaming spaces. Her written work on gender issues has been featured on prominent fighting game sites like Shoryuken; shortly after, Polygon promoted and discussed her panel.
Although Lil currently designs full-time for TED, she occasionally has the chance to slip away to participate in neat events like the Smash Invitational hosted by Nintendo at E3 2014. She also makes an appearance in the Super Smash Brothers documentary. Weirdly enough, Lil cannot stand when people call her by her full name, Lilian.
