Lindsay Davenport is a former professional tennis player known for her powerful groundstrokes and consistent baseline play. Davenport began playing tennis at the age of six, and turned professional at the age of 16 in 1993, soon becoming one of the dominant forces in women's tennis.

Davenport's career breakthrough came in 1998 when she won her first Grand Slam singles title at the US Open, defeating Martina Hingis in the final. This victory catapulted her to the top of the rankings, and she went on to win two more Grand Slam singles titles: Wimbledon in 1999 and the Australian Open in 2000. Davenport's game was characterized by her strong serve, formidable forehand, and remarkable consistency, making her a formidable opponent on any surface.
