Lindsey Collins Biography
Lindsey Collins was born in raised in Southern California. She attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, where her father, Dennis, was the dean of students. Collins earned a Bachelor of Arts in Diplomacy and World Affairs in 1994. Collins joined Disney Feature Animation right out of college. She was a production assistant on Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, before moving up to assistant production manager on Hercules. She moved to the Bay Area and joined Pixar in 1997. She served as lighting manager on John Lasseter’s A Bug’s Life. She moved to the editorial department on Toy Story 2 before handling production manager duties on Finding Nemo. She would collaborate again with Andrew Stanton, on WALL-E as a co-producer. Lindsey had this to say about graduating from a small college and how it compares to working at Pixar. “Being at a small college also encourages leadership and having the courage to take risks. It’s basically being comfortable in chaos, where the answer is not clear.” In 2012, she produced Andrew Stanton’s live action film, John Carter, for Disney. Rumors suggest that she will be producing the unannounced Finding Nemo 2, but that remains to be seen.
