Local Natives

Established in 2005, Local Natives is a Los Angeles-based indie rock band. They have released a string of successful studio albums, beginning with "Gorilla Manor" in 2009, followed by "Hummingbird" in 2013, "Sunlit Youth" in 2016, and "Violet Street" in 2019. Their musical journey continued with the release of two more albums in quick succession; "Time Will Wait for No One" in 2023 and "But I'll Wait for You" in 2024. Despite an amicable departure of founding member Kelcey Ayer following their 2024 tour and a lineup change in 2011 with the exit of bassist Andy Hamm, the band has maintained its presence in the music scene, performing at notable festivals such as SXSW and Lollapalooza.

The band's discography includes several critically acclaimed works, such as "Violet Street," which received a 7.2 rating from Pitchfork. They also gained recognition for their performances of "When Am I Gonna Lose You" on television shows like "Ellen" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live." In 2020, they released an EP titled "Sour Lemon" and followed it up with the covers EP "Music from the Pen Gala 1983" for the Apple TV+ series "The Shrink Next Door" in 2021. After a nearly two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they returned to performing live in August 2021 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

Local Natives have achieved chart success with singles like "Wide Eyes" and "Dark Days," the latter of which was certified Gold by the RIAA in 2020. They have also made appearances on the Billboard 200 and Rock Albums charts. Beyond their group efforts, band members have pursued solo projects; Nik Ewing released his second solo album in 2024, and Ryan Hahn launched his debut solo project, the "Heavy Palms EP," in the same year. With a history of chart success across various countries and a significant presence on major music platforms like Apple Music, Local Natives continues to be a staple in the indie rock scene.
