Lucas Brothers

The Lucas Brothers are a twin comedy duo, consisting of Kenny and Keith Lucas, known for their unique blend of intellectual and observational humor, often infused with historical and political commentary. They gained widespread recognition for their distinctive style of stand-up, drawing upon their experiences as Black men in America, their love of philosophy, and their interest in legal studies, as both brothers attended law school before pursuing comedy full-time.

The Lucas Brothers have appeared on various comedy platforms, including their own animated series “Lucas Bros. Moving Co.,” which aired on Fox's ADHD programming block and later FXX. The show humorously depicted the duo running a moving company while dealing with surreal and often absurd scenarios. Their laid-back and dry comedic delivery has earned them a dedicated following.

In addition to stand-up and TV, they co-wrote the screenplay for the acclaimed film “Judas and the Black Messiah,” a project that brought them into the spotlight as screenwriters. The film, which tells the story of Fred Hampton and the betrayal by FBI informant William O'Neal, received critical acclaim and earned them an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay in 2021.

The Lucas Brothers have also made guest appearances on popular shows like “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and Netflix’s “Comedians of the World,” further solidifying their place in contemporary comedy. Their unique mix of thoughtful commentary, clever insights, and understated humor continues to resonate with audiences, setting them apart as influential figures in comedy and entertainment.
