Lucia Rhodes

A first-time author, writing a book was never Lucia Rhodes' box of dreams, but out of obedience to God, she made the leap. Rhodes is a woman of faith in her 40s who decided to speak on the stigma that hovers around fertility issues. Not just an author, she is a practicing registered dietitian with a Master's in Public Health and a practicing Canadian Certified Physician Assistant.

She believes we should face head-on our insecurities, vulnerabilities, and whatever comes our way. We don’t always have to have it all together. Be brutally honest with yourself & be an active participant in life. Her mantra is 'if you are afraid, do it afraid, but do it.' Unapologetic about her faith, she also believes we do not always have to discount the role medical technology can play in addressing issues of infertility.

​Her goal is to share her experiences of infertility as an African and a Woman of Color in order to dispel the stigma in the community. She wants to speak to others about how important it is to know that going through fertility treatment is not taboo. As a woman of faith, she hopes to share how faith has strengthened herself and her spouse during this season of waiting.

Despite life challenges, it is her belief that we should not accept labels that tend to surface during trials. Labels only stick if we allow them to. The purpose is sometimes birthed through trials, and she would like to share her cumulative experiences with other women in order for them to discover purpose and to have the audacity to believe. She has years of experience in public speaking as a health professional and author. Have always had a passion for encouraging others.
