Lucy McRae

Lucy is a science fiction artist, body architect and inventor of Swallowable Perfume. She places the body in complex future scenarios, inventing visually iconic films and experiences that connect science with imagination. Lucy influences culture by providing a feminine point of view on scientific breakthroughs related to health and the human body.

Recognised as an early identifier of emerging technologies that drive product innovation, she led Philips Electronics far future research lab, developing stretchable electronics, an electronic tattoo and a range of emotional sensing dresses.

She encourages scientific conversation around the slipperiness of where science, technology and engineering meets the body and speaks globally events including WIRED Health, CNN’s Human Augmentation conference, Royal Albert Hall, London’s College of Physicians, Tribeca Film Festival, Cannes Lion, Broad Institute and MIT. Lucy has been a trusted consultant to P&G, Unilever, Intel, Mini Cooper, Swarovski, Aesop and facilitates workshops that explore the cultural impacts emerging technologies will have on future lifestyles, how they will drive new business.

Her award-winning artworks have been exhibited at London Science Museum, Royal Academy of Arts, Centre Pompidou and Venice Biennale, developed in collaboration with leading Institutes like NASA, MIT and Ars Electronica. Lucy is listed by Fast Company as one of 50 designers shaping the future.
