Luke Grimes is an American actor best known for his roles in "American Sniper," where he portrayed Navy SEAL Marc Alan Lee, the "Fifty Shades" film series as Elliot Grey, and the hit Paramount Network drama "Yellowstone," in which he played Kayce Dutton from 2018 to 2024.
Throughout his career, Grimes has appeared in various films and television series, including "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane," "War Eagle, Arkansas," and "Assassination of a High School President." He also played Ryan Lafferty in the ABC drama "Brothers & Sisters," initially as a recurring character before becoming a series regular. His television credits further include "True Blood," where he portrayed James in season six before leaving the show, reportedly due to creative differences.
Grimes has taken on roles in both independent and major studio films. He appeared in "Taken 2" as the boyfriend of Liam Neeson's character's daughter and starred in the FX movie pilot "Outlaw Country" alongside Haley Bennett and Mary Steenburgen. His other notable film roles include "Freeheld," in which he played Todd Belkin opposite Julianne Moore, Steve Carell, Elliot Page, and Michael Shannon. In 2021, Grimes received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for "Yellowstone." Expanding his artistic pursuits, he made his musical debut in 2024 with the release of "Burn – Live From Nashville" on Spotify, followed by his self-titled debut album, "Luke Grimes," on March 8.
