Luke Russert

Luke Russert is an author and broadcast news correspondent known for his extensive work with NBC News from 2008 to 2016. His reporting was featured on several platforms, including NBC Nightly News, TODAY, NBCNews.com, and MSNBC. Russert often stepped in as a guest anchor on various MSNBC programs such as "Andrea Mitchell Reports" and "Way Too Early." He began his career at NBC News in August 2008, focusing on youth issues as part of the network's coverage of the 2008 presidential election, and his election day report was a significant contribution to NBC's News & Documentary Emmy award for its 2008 Election Night coverage.

During his academic years, Russert graduated from St. Albans School in Washington, D.C., in 2004 and later attended Boston College. While a student, he worked for ESPN's program Pardon the Interruption and co-hosted the sports talk program 60/20 Sports on XM Satellite Radio with James Carville. After graduation, he served as a Congressional correspondent on Capitol Hill for NBC News from May 2009 to July 2016, where he reported on significant events such as Hurricane Irene in 2011 and made his primetime debut on NBC's "Dateline" in February 2012.

Besides his broadcasting career, Russert is a New York Times Bestselling author. His travel memoir "Look for Me There" was published by HarperHorizon in May 2023. He has also shown his writing skills by penning a new introduction to Tim Russert's book "Big Russ and Me." Russert's other notable appearances include the TV show "Conviction" and MSNBC's web-only show "The Briefing," which he hosted.
