Marc Zicree

Marc Scott Zicree has over 100 script sales to his name, including credits on Star Trek – The Next Generation, Sliders, Deep Space Nine, Friday the 13 – the Series, The New Twilight Zone, Beauty and the Beast, Smurfs, and Babylon 5, plus multiple pilots for NBC, ABC, and Showtime. He has written for virtually every major studio and network, been nominated for the Humanitas Prize, Diane Thomas Award, and American Book Award, and won the prestigious Hamptons Prize and the TV Guide Award for World Enough and Time, the online episode of Star Trek (www.startreknewvoyages.com) starring George Takei (Star Trek’s famed Mr. Sulu), that he produced, co-wrote, and directed, which is currently streaming online to millions of viewers.  He has just been nominated for the Hugo and Nebula awards – the top two prizes in science fiction.

Zicree’s novel Magic Time (Eos), was named one of Barnes and Noble’s Best Books of the Year. Its sequel Magic Time – Angelfire, got rave reviews from Publisher’s Weekly, Library Journal and Booklist. The third book in the series Magic Time – Ghostlands, hit the L.A. Times best-seller list. The Magic Time trilogy is scheduled to be published as a monthly comic book and series of graphic novels. He also is well-known as the author of The Twilight Zone Companion, named in 2006 by the New York Times as one of 10 “science fiction books for the ages,” with over half a million copies in print.

Zicree was a commentator for three years on NPR’s Morning Edition. As a media expert, he has appeared on hundreds of radio and TV shows, including American Masters, All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, Biography, Entertainment Tonight, E! True Hollywood Story, the BBC, The Today Show, and he’s a regular on Coast to Coast.
