Marie Donoghue

Marie Donoghue is the Chief Business and Growth Officer at DraftKings, a fantasy sports contest and sports betting company. Prior to DraftKings, Donoghue served as the Vice President of U.S. Sports Content & Partnerships at Prime Video, overseeing Amazon’s U.S. sports content business. In her role, Donoghue led Amazon’s sports strategy in the United States, identifying and evaluating new opportunities, generating multimillion-dollar business and content partnerships, and enabling customers to access live and on-demand sports content on hundreds of devices. She was also responsible for the management of groundbreaking content platforms and the leadership of company-wide strategic innovation.

Donoghue has led the digital and social media transformation at Prime Video. She spearheaded the groundbreaking acquisition and production of Prime Video's Emmy Award-winning Thursday Night Football coverage and played a key role in expanding Prime Video's sports content portfolio, including the successful acquisition and production of UEFA Champions League in Italy and Germany, EPL in the U.K., NBA in Brazil, and World Baseball Classic in Japan.

Over the course of her career, Donoghue has received numerous recognitions, including “Most Influential People in Sports” (Sports Business Journal), “Power 100 Women in Entertainment” (The Hollywood Reporter), “New York Impact List” (Variety), “The Most Powerful Women in Cable”(CableFax: The Magazine), “Women to Watch” (Advertising Age and Advertising Women of New York) and “Game Changers” (Sports Business Journal). Beyond these awards, she has also received extensive media coverage for her achievements in the sports industry.

Prior to joining Amazon, Donoghue was at ESPN for more than 18 years, where she spent her final years as Executive Vice President, Global Business & Content Strategy. Here, she led the ongoing development and implementation of ESPN’s enterprise-wide business and content strategy, headed ESPN’s business affairs, business development, and partnership group, and oversaw ESPN Films (30 for 30). While at ESPN, she also launched several award-winning digital properties.

Donoghue earned a J.D. degree from Columbia University and a B.A. from Columbia College.
