Marilyn Carlson Nelson is chair and former CEO of Carlson, the largest travel and hospitality company in the world. As head of her family-owned business from 1998 to 2008, Nelson nearly doubled sales and grew Carlson into a true global giant with brands and services employing over 150,000 people in 150 countries under the Carlson brands which include Radisson Hotels, T.G.I Friday's restaurants and Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
In addition, she co-chaired the World Economic Forum in 2004 and served as Chair of the National Women's Business Council. Forbes magazine named her one of The World's 100 Most Powerful Women, while U.S. News & World Report has recognized her as one of America's Best Leaders. Nelson serves on the boards of ExxonMobil, The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy. The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and is Chair of the Mayo Clinic Board.
She is also the bestselling author of the inspiring book, How We Lead Matters: Reflections on a Life of Leadership.
