Mario Cristobal

Mario Cristobal, the current head coach for the University of Miami, boasts a commendable record in the field of collegiate football. With 94 wins and 78 losses under his belt, Cristobal has not only led teams to several championships but also received multiple personal accolades. He led his team to the Sun Belt championship in 2010, and the Pac-12 twice in 2019 and 2020, earning him the title of Sun Belt Coach of the Year in 2010 and AP Pac-12 Coach of the Year in 2019.

Before his current tenure at The University of Miami, Cristobal served as the head coach at Florida International University from 2007 to 2012, and at the University of Oregon from 2017 to 2021. His coaching prowess was apparent when he led Oregon to a Rose Bowl victory in 2019, and under his guidance, his team won the Pac-12 Championship in 2020. Not solely confined to coaching, Cristobal was an all-conference offensive tackle for the Miami Hurricanes, contributing to their national championships in 1989 and 1991 - an achievement that adds another layer of depth to his understanding of the sport.

Since taking the reins of the University of Miami Hurricanes football team in December 2021, Cristobal has continued to make waves in the world of college football. He led the Hurricanes to their first 10-win season since 2017 and under his coaching, Miami secured the Florida Cup twice in 2024 and 2025. Notably, during his tenure, Miami had its first No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick since 1991 and made its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance as the No. 10 seed in 2025.
