Matthew Lillard is an actor, voice actor and director. He is best known for voicing the character of Shaggy in "Scooby Doo," and portraying Dean, the hapless husband of Beth Boland, played by Christina Hendricks, in "Good Girls." He is in the movie, "The Life of Chuck" starring alongside Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill.
Lillard's breakthrough in Hollywood came with a major role in 1996's "Scream." Playing a homicidal teen, his performance in the critically and commercially successful film led to a string of big-budget appearances, including "Wing Commander" (1999), "She's All That" (1999) and "Thir13en Ghosts" (2001). Lillard also turned in a well-received performance as Stevo, a lovingly satirized rebel in all-too-straight "Salt Lake City," in the indie film SLC Punk.
Lillard has founded several theater groups including Mean Streets Ensemble (1990-1991), Summoners Ensemble (1994-1997) and Blue Sphere Alliance (1997- present).
In 1989, Lillard was chosen to host Nickelodeon's short-lived "SK8" TV program. In 1991, he moved to New York to attend the Circle in the Square Theatrical School. After a two-year stint at the prestigious school, he landed a small role in John Waters' dark suburban comedy "Serial Mom."
