Maurice Jones-Drew Biography
Maurice Jones-Drew is a retired NFL running back who played professionally from 2006-2014, primarily with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2006-2013) but also the Oakland Raiders (2014). Over the course of his career, he rushed for 8,167 yards, had a 4.4 yards per carry average and scored 68 touchdowns. Jones-Drew enjoyed three straight spectacular seasons from 2009-2011 and every year was named to the Pro Bowl.
Jones-Drew rushed for 1,391 yards in 2009, 1,324 yards in 2010 and in 2011, set a career-best mark with 1,606 rushing yards, which led the NFL. The 2010 and 2011 seasons saw him named first-team All-Pro while he earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2009. While in college at UCLA, Jones-Drew earned first-team All-Pac 10 as well as consensus All-American honors in 2005 after rushing for 914 yards for the Bruins. After college, the Jaguars selected him in the 2nd round of the 2006 draft.
Jones-Drew holds numerous Jacksonville franchise records, including career rushing touchdowns and rushing yards in a single season. After retiring, he became a broadcaster for the NFL Network and has served as a radio color analyst for the Los Angeles Rams. Drew was born on March 23, 1985 in Oakland, California and went to high school at De La Salle.
