Mauro Porcini

Mauro Porcini is PepsiCo's first ever Chief Design Officer. Since joining the food & beverage corporation in 2012, he has been instrumental in infusing design thinking into PepsiCo’s culture and is leading a new approach to innovation by design that impacts the company’s product platforms and brands, such as Pepsi, Lay’s, Mountain Dew, and Gatorade, among others. His focus encompasses physical to virtual expressions of the brands, including product, packaging, events, advertising, fashion and art collaborations, retail activation, architecture, and digital media. He leads teams based in multiple global cities including New York City, Purchase, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami, London, Dublin, Moscow, Il Cairo, New Delhi, Shanghai, Bangkok, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, and Cape Town.

Porcini hosts the successful video podcast "In Your Shoes - with Mauro Porcini", available on Apple podcast, Spotify, and YouTube, featuring interviews with creative personalities globally. Since 2020, he has been a presenter and judge on the television shows "New York by Design" and "America by Design," which air on CBS and Amazon Prime Video. Additionally, he has given keynotes at various festivals and events, discussing topics such as the impact of design on humanity and the importance of design in the business world.

In 2022, Porcini published his English book "The Human Side of Innovation: The Power of People in Love with People", which was named a Gold Winner of the Better Future-New York Design Award. His Italian book, "L’età dell’eccellenza: Come innovazione e creatività possono costruire un mondo migliore," is now in its fifth reprint. Before his tenure at PepsiCo, he was the first Chief Design Officer at 3M, where his teams across the U.S., Italy, China, and Japan won numerous global design and innovation awards. Porcini began his career at Philips Design and later founded the design firm Wisemad Srl, in Italy.

Currently, Porcini serves as the President of the Politecnico of Milan Foundation in the United States and sits on the board of directors of the Design Management Institute. Porcini resides between New York City and the Hamptons with his wife Carlotta, their daughter Beatrice, and their two Pomeranians, Leone and Bella. His interest in fashion is notable, underscored by his collection of over 300 pairs of shoes.
