Maya Gilliss-Chapman is the founder and CEO of Cambodians in Tech, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Silicon Valley. She is originally from the Kandal Province of Cambodia but now resides in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she also attended college at the University of California, Berkeley. Today, she helps young Cambodians get jobs in the tech industry and works with stakeholders in the ASEAN startup ecosystem to help develop Cambodia’s technology sector.
Cambodians in Tech was founded in response to diversity and inclusion programs over looking refugee communities. It currently has members across the United States and in six countries around the world.
