Megan Rapinoe

Megan Rapinoe is a former professional soccer player. As a member of the US Women's national soccer team, she helped win the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup tournaments and a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. A co-captain of the team from 2018 to 2020, she was named the Best FIFA Women's Player, won the Ballon d'Or Féminin in 2019, and was awarded the Golden Boot.

Rapinoe's professional career spanned numerous teams, including OL Reign, Chicago Red Stars, Philadelphia Independence, and MagicJack within the Women's Professional Soccer. She also had international stints with Sydney FC, Lyon, and Seattle Sounders Women. Known for her crafty style of play, Rapinoe announced her retirement from professional soccer after the 2023 NWSL season, which culminated in a record-breaking attendance of 34,130 for her final home match.

Off the pitch, Rapinoe's influence extends to activism and advocacy. She's also been involved in the US Women's soccer team's equal pay complaint since 2016.
