Melina Jampolis

Dr. Melina Jampolis is an internist and board certified physician nutrition specialist, one of only a few hundred in the United States. She served as the 2015 President of the National Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists. Trained as an internist, Dr. Jampolis has specialized exclusively in nutrition for weight loss, disease prevention, and treatment for over 15 years.

She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, a Stanford University teaching hospital. In 2005, she hosted “Fit TV’s Diet Doctor” on the Discovery Network's FIT TV and has served as the diet and fitness expert for CNNHealth.com. Dr. Jampolis’ books include "The Doctor On Demand Diet," "The Calendar Diet," "The No-Time-to-Lose-Diet," and "The Busy Person’s Guide to Permanent Weight Loss."

Dr. Jampolis is a frequent guest on various TV shows including "The Doctors," "Live with Regis and Kelly," "Today," "Dr. Oz. show," "The Talk," CNN, and FOX News channel. Her keynote speaker topics cover "Food As Medicine: Improve Health, Increase Vitality & Live Longer!" and "Secrets of Aging Gracefully," where she discusses practical approaches to reducing inflammation through diet and the role of antioxidants in disease prevention.

In addition to her media presence, Dr. Jampolis is dedicated to the treatment and prevention of childhood obesity, particularly in low-income, minority populations. She has volunteered to help launch a health food pantry in the Hunter’s Point neighborhood of San Francisco and conducts bi-weekly family nutrition and obesity counseling sessions at the Bresee Foundation in Los Angeles. She also serves on the advisory board of schoolmenu.com, providing tools to help parents raise healthier kids. Dr. Jampolis lives in Los Angeles and maintains a small private practice in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
