Spaeth is the President and Founder of Spaeth Communications, Inc., established in 1987 in Dallas, which specializes in communication training and consulting for various companies and institutions.

Spaeth's government service includes roles as a White House Fellow assigned to FBI Director William Webster and director of public affairs at the Federal Trade Commission. In 1983, President Ronald Reagan appointed her as director of media relations at the White House, where she played a pivotal role in introducing satellite communications, transforming media relations through the electronic White House News Service. Her expertise extends to producing for ABC's "20/20" and serving as a speechwriter for William S. Paley, the founder and chairman of CBS.

In addition to her significant consulting and training work, Spaeth actively educates on communication as a strategic business tool through her role at the Business Leadership Center of Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.
