Michael Arterberry Biography
Michael Arterberry is grateful for the guidance and support of positive adult role models as a teenager. He dedicated his professional life to helping people navigate life's difficulties and launch their future into motion. For more than 25 years, he has been helping teens and adults use what they have gone through as a catalyst for success rather than an obstacle for failure.
Arterberry is the recipient of the 2010 USA Network’s Characters Unite Award, the 2014 100 Men of Color Award, and the Y-COP Educator of the Year Award. Using his experiences, compassion, and unique ability to meet teens and adults where they are, Arterberry founded Youth Voices Center, Inc., to help young people overcome obstacles, history, stereotypes, and even their self-image and limiting beliefs to lead extraordinary lives. Since its inception in 2008, Arterberry has worked with thousands of students in high schools across New York. He is the author of "Be Encouraged: 250 Days of Motivation and Encouragement" and the subject of the book "God Was Holding My Hand," a biographical story of his tumultuous childhood and life-altering medical condition.
