Michael Tchao

Michael Tchao is currently the Vice President of iPad Product Marketing at Apple, focusing on Consumer Technology, New Product/Service Strategy Development & Design, and Product & Brand Marketing.

Previously, Tchao was the General Manager of Nike Techlab, a sports technology innovation group within Nike. In this role, he led the development of new digital products and services for Nike’s sport and fitness consumers. His group was notable for managing key technology partnerships, including the significant partnership between Nike and Apple. This collaboration was instrumental in the creation of the Nike+iPod system, announced in May 2006, which has been recognized for its innovation in sports technology.

Before his tenure at Nike, Tchao devoted over a decade to Apple, where he contributed in various capacities including Product Development, Product Marketing, and Strategic Alliances. During this period, he played a pivotal role in establishing Apple’s first Multimedia Products group and led Product Marketing for Apple's inaugural consumer electronics product, the Newton PDA. Additionally, he has a rich history of consulting for major technology firms such as HP, IBM, Microsoft, Sony, Kodak, and GM OnStar, where he provided expertise in technology and marketing strategy.
