Mickey English Biography
Mickey English was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He played semi-pro football for the Cleveland Lions, has been an actor, stand-up comedian and is a former 20-year rock morning radio personality and morning show host. After his tenure in the broadcasting industry English found a career in sales and is a present-day Sr. Technical Recruiter at Yoh! - A Day & Zimmermann Company. English has 12 years of recovery where he attends regular Narcotics Anonymous meetings, has helped numerous young men recover from addiction and lead productive lives. He continues to sponsor young men and accept regular public speaking opportunities to speak about recovering from addiction, relapse prevention, the importance of mental and physical health and various other topics to help those struggling with their mental health and addiction issues.
English also hosts a recovery/mental health-based YouTube show and podcast "Shot of Hope LIVE" on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and other media outlets. He currently lives in York, South Carolina with his wife Shana and two sons Jacob and Jaylan, their dog Fozzy, Django an African Gray Parrot, and 6 rescue cats.
