Mike Birbiglia

Mike Birbiglia is a comedian, storyteller, director, and actor known for his performances worldwide, including at the Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, and Broadway. His shows, "My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend" and "Thank God for Jokes," were both filmed for Netflix, while his show "The New One" ran for 99 shows at the Cort Theatre and earned him the Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle award for Outstanding Solo Performance.

In addition to performing live, Birbiglia is an author and filmmaker who wrote, directed, and starred in the films "Sleepwalk with Me" and "Don’t Think Twice." His book "Sleepwalk with Me and Other Painfully True Stories" is a New York Times bestseller. Birbiglia's storytelling and creative narratives have also transitioned to the auditory realm where he hosts the podcast 'Mike Birbiglia's Working it Out.'

As an actor, Birbiglia has appeared on "Inside Amy Schumer," HBO’s "Girls," and "Broad City," as well as in the films "Trainwreck," "The Fault in Our Stars," "Popstar," and more recently "A Man Called Otto." He also featured in Taylor Swift’s music video for "Anti-Hero." He plays the role of Danny Pearson on "Orange Is the New Black" and Oscar Langstraat on Showtime’s "Billions." In 2017, Birbiglia was honored with the Kurt Vonnegut Award for humor, and more recently, he performed in the Broadway show 'Old Man and the Pool' at the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center, which further solidified his reputation in live theatrical performances.
