Mike Rothschild

Mike Rothschild is a journalist who has spent the last decade writing about the rise and spread of conspiracy theories, hoaxes, scams, and moral panics. He is the author of the first complete book on the QAnon conspiracy movement, "The Storm is Upon Us: How QAnon Became a Movement, Cult, and Conspiracy Theory of Everything." His next book, "Jewish Space Lasers: The Rothschilds and 200 Years of Conspiracy Theories," is on the history of hoaxes and myths about the Rothschild banking family - to whom he is not related.

As a subject matter expert in conspiracy theories and their impact, he has written hundreds of articles and been interviewed or featured by The New York Times, The Washington Post, the New Yorker, the BBC, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, and many others. Additionally, Rothschild has made frequent TV, radio, and podcast appearances in the United States and internationally, worked as an expert witness in cases related to QAnon and the 2020 Election, and submitted written testimony to the January 6th Select Committee on the role of QAnon in the Capitol attack, which was used in the final Committee report.

Rothschild has also spoken at numerous colleges and conferences, including the ADL’s 2022 “Never is Now” conference, and testified to the House Administration Committee on the danger of election misinformation. He lives in Southern California.
