Mike Tannenbaum

Mike Tannenbaum joined ESPN as an NFL Front Office Insider in April 2019. With a robust background spanning more than two decades in NFL team front offices, he regularly appears on various ESPN platforms, such as "NFL Live," "SportsCenter," "First Take," and "Get Up!"

In addition to his role at ESPN, Tannenbaum is a professor at Columbia University. He also contributed significantly to ESPN’s coverage of the 2019 NFL Draft, serving as an analyst on ESPN Radio alongside Dari Nowkhah, Ian Fitzsimmons, Chris Canty, and Jim Nagy.

Before joining ESPN, Tannenbaum held several executive roles in the NFL, notably as executive vice president of football operations for the Miami Dolphins from 2015 to 2018, and as executive vice president and general manager for the New York Jets from 2006 to 2012. Under his leadership, the Dolphins made their first playoff appearance in eight seasons in 2016. Meanwhile, the Jets advanced to the playoffs in three seasons, secured four playoff victories, and made two AFC Championship game appearances during his tenure, marking the most successful seven-year period in the franchise's history.

He initiated his NFL career as an intern with the New Orleans Saints in 1994, progressing through roles with the Cleveland Browns, and eventually being hired by Bill Parcells as director of player contracts for the New York Jets in 1997.

Tannenbaum graduated cum laude from Tulane University Law School with a certificate in sports law while working for the Saints. He earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His commitment to education is evident in his appointments, including to the Sports Lawyers Association board of directors in 2008.

Residing in Boca Raton, Florida, with his wife and two children, Tannenbaum maintains a commitment to philanthropy and education, demonstrated through scholarship programs established with his alma maters and a New Jersey YMCA, aimed at supporting young professionals in the sports industry.
