Milagros Phillips

Milagros Phillips is a keynote speaker, TEDx presenter, author, and certified coach. She specializes as a race literacy consultant, developing strategic learning programs for organizations to enhance their Diversity Equity & Inclusion initiatives. Her approach incorporates history, science, research, and storytelling, creating transformative experiences. With a career spanning over 35 years, she has consulted, designed, and facilitated programs across various industries, including Fortune 100 companies, colleges, and universities.

Phillips is also recognized for her deep expertise in facilitating difficult conversations on race. She developed "Race Demystified & the Healing Process," which has been integral to training programs at institutions like Michigan State University and The Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution. Additionally, she co-developed the Race Equity Framework Model to End HIV for The National Minority AIDS Council and was pivotal in developing Congressional Conversations on Race with organizations such as Search for Common Ground and The Faith and Politics Institute. She also served as the Founding Executive Director of "The National Resource Center for the Healing of Racism" and was an Expert in Residence for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Her literary contributions include titles such as "11 Reasons to Become Race Literate: A pocket guide to a new conversation" and "8 Essentials to a Race Conversation: A Manual to a New Dialogue." Her TEDxPeacePlaza talk, "What is 'race literacy?'" highlights her commitment to educating on racial awareness in historical and non-threatening contexts. Beyond her race literacy work, Phillips is an artist, a Reiki Master and Teacher, a Sound Therapist, and a Teacher of A Course in Miracles. Her book "CRACKING THE HEALER’S CODE: A Prescription for Healing Racism & Finding Wholeness" is highly regarded. She was honored with the 2021 NEW THOUGHT WALDEN AWARD for Interfaith/Intercultural Understanding.
