Mohamed Loutfy Mansour

Mohamed Mansour has led Mansour Group, together with his brothers, from one business breakthrough to the next. His core belief is that the essence of any successful company is the people, and this is where all his real investments take root: his employees. He encourages them to follow his example by listening to their instinct and accordingly making the right decision; this is coupled with applying a system of decentralized authority, whereby people climb the management ladder solely by merit of their skills and experience.

After completing his education in the United States, he returned to Egypt and expanded the Mansour portfolio by bringing in General Motors. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Mansour Automotive Company, General Motors’ sole distributor in Egypt, Iraq and Libya. He is also the Chairman of Mantrac, the authorized distributor of Caterpillar. His management skills proved so effective that Caterpillar made Mansour their sole distributor in six other African countries as well as Iraq and Russia.

He is the Founder and Chairman of the Lead Foundation, a non-profit organization providing funding to small and micro enterprises. Mansour has served as the Chairman of the Egypt-U.S. Business Council, and was also the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, as well as the Secretary General of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES).

From early 2006 until October 2009 Mansour was appointed as the Minister of Transport, one of the largest service ministries employing up to 280,000 people, and overseeing 23 affiliate authorities in five main sectors: roads and bridges, railways, metro, river transport, and maritime transport and ports.
