Nancy Costikyan Biography
Nancy Costikyan is the Director of the Office of Work/Life at Harvard University, supporting Harvard’s recruitment and retention of a high performing workforce and the wellbeing of a diverse community of staff and scholars. Nancy and her team contribute to the development of Harvard’s policies and special initiatives, and the office oversees Harvard’s University-wide work/life strategies. The office administers a range of programs for staff and faculty including those focused on mental health, workplace flexibility, dependent care, behavioral risk, and workplace-based mindfulness training.
Nancy has worked for 30 years as a psychotherapist, organizational consultant, department director and clinical supervisor. In addition to her work/life role, she is also a Teaching Associate in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Nancy is the mother of 22 year old twin sons who enjoy reminding her that she is not the paragon of work/life balance that she would like to be. Mindfulness helps, though.
