Nick Mayhugh

Nick Mayhugh, an American T37 and T38 Paralympic sprint runner and soccer player, has showcased immense resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Born with a mild form of Cerebral Palsy, Mayhugh was told he would never play soccer, but he defied the odds and went on to become a State Cup Champion and a Division 1 soccer player at Radford University. Moreover, he made a noteworthy contribution to the United States men's Paralympic soccer team, scoring 34 goals in 25 appearances and playing an instrumental role in securing a bronze medal at the 2019 Parapan American Games in the 7-a-side football event. These accomplishments led to him being named U.S. Soccer Player of the Year with a Disability in 2019.

Mayhugh's achievements are not just confined to the soccer field. He has also made a name for himself on the track, holding three Paralympic World Records and four American Records in the Men’s 100m, Men’s 200m, 400m, and the 4x1 Universal Relay. His performance at the 2020 Summer Paralympics was remarkable, where he represented the United States and won gold medals in the men's 100m T37 and mixed 4x100m relay events, along with a silver medal in the men's 400m T37 event.

Mayhugh routinely delivers motivational speeches at schools and local sports clubs, drawing from his personal experiences to motivate young people. He also does some modeling and is represented by IMG Models. Mayhugh is training full-time for track and field ahead of the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, for which he qualified.
